As a swimmer and observer of movement, I have always been captivated by the rhythmic grace of the front crawl. To me, the arm movements resemble a wheel in constant motion—an elegant symbol of life’s perpetual cycle. Just as a wheel turns smoothly and endlessly, our lives are a continuous flow of experiences, growth, and change. This concept echoes Leonardo da Vinci’s wheel of perpetual motion, which symbolises endless energy and the unceasing cycle of movement. Both ideas highlight the importance of harmony, balance, and ongoing motion in understanding life’s natural rhythm.
In water, this flow embodies grace—each stroke a dance of balance, strength, and harmony. The water supports and guides us, allowing us to move effortlessly through life’s currents. Similarly, embracing flow and grace in life helps us navigate challenges with resilience and poise, recognizing that movement and change are natural parts of our journey. By aligning our actions with the rhythm of life—much like the continuous turning of a wheel—we can find beauty in the process, cultivating a sense of peace, purpose, and perpetual renewal amid life’s ongoing cycle.
