My name is Noon Etienne, and I am a qualified Swim England teacher at Levels 2 and 3, as well as a certified Shaw Method teacher.

I enjoy teaching swimming to all levels, including adults, babies, children, swim school students, and triathletes—whether they are beginners, intermediate, or advanced swimmers.

I was introduced to the Shaw Method by Stephanie Ellis, a dedicated swim coach and the founder of Stroke Works techniques. Stroke Works is a series of drills specifically designed for triathletes, ranging from beginners to advanced swimmers. These techniques are rooted in the Alexander Technique and the Shaw Method, focusing on the relationship between the head, neck, and back while swimming.

Currently, my lessons are held at the Queen Mother Sports Centre near Victoria, in London. I run sessions on Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings. For more information, please visit www.strokeworks.co.uk.

The Shaw Method has personally helped me overcome a shoulder issue while swimming front crawl. By adapting the Eagle Arms recovery technique, I’ve been able to swim front crawl pain-free, with greater ease, and for longer periods.

I have truly fallen in love with the Shaw Method. It has transformed how I use my body in the water, enabling me to swim all four strokes with better efficiency and alignment—what I call the “Shaw Way.”

I love the water; it’s therapeutic, magical, and a joy to help others experience. Whether swimming for leisure, injury recovery, open-water challenges, competition training, or simply for holiday enjoyment, my mission is to guide others to achieve their swimming goals in a safe and fulfilling way.
