Try This #1: The First Principle

Explore what Steven Shaw calls the first principle – which is that your alignment affects your performance more than any other factor.

  1. Explore GLIDING with your eyes looking straight down at the floor and with the back of the neck long.
  2. Notice how your pelvis is lifted and how easy it is to move forward.
  3. Contrast that with pulling the head back and looking forward.
  4. Notice how different it feels in your back and how the position of your legs are affected by movements of the head neck and back.
