5-Day Swimming residential with the founder of the Shaw Method, Steven Shaw. Non-swimming partners are welcome!

The Shaw Method is a unique hands-on technique incorporating the principles of The Alexander Technique. By the end of the week, your swimming will have transformed.

If you would like to focus on your swimming without interruptions from everyday life and have the chance to receive 5 days of attention from Steven Shaw, the founder of the Shaw Method, then a holiday or short break is perfect for you.

The forthcoming swimming intensive will take place at the wonderful facilities of Holmes Place in Sintra, located in the Lisbon region of Portugal. The pool is warm and quiet, providing you with the best opportunity to transform your relationship with the water and learn to swim with a new sense of ease and grace. Tuition will be organized around your individual needs, with a combination of private sessions and small group work. The schedule is in the mornings only, allowing plenty of time to explore historical Sintra and the beautiful beaches of Cascais.

Daily Schedule

Each day there will be 120-minute group classes in the water, followed by private coaching in the afternoons.

Starts 9.00 – 13.00/14.00 (1x30min private lesson included) (4/5hrs a day)

Each day you will have:
1 x 60 min groundwork
1 x 120min in the pool

1 x Holmes Place class

1 x 60min Supervised swimming 

 

     

    Fees and Registration
    • Course registration through Art of Swimming only
    • Fee: £950 for the 5 day experience
    • Hotel is additional. See Hotels.
    Price also includes
    • Each day you can also take part in yoga, pilates and fitness classes with Holmes Place for free.
    Payment

    The cost of the training is £950 per person.
    A deposit of £500 is required on booking.
    Flights and Accommodation to be booked independently.
