I learnt to swim at an early age, but it was not until much later that I discovered the real joy of swimming and all the health and fitness benefits it can bring.

That feeling encouraged me to pursue a career in swimming, starting with lifeguarding. After obtaining the necessary qualifications, I was able to begin teaching, tutoring and eventually management. Missing the real "hands on" part of my job I made the decision to to concentrate purely on teaching.

My aim is to ensure my pupils are able to gain the best advice and skills learning session possible, whether they be young or old, able bodied or disabled. That's why I wanted to work with Art of Swimming. I had seen first hand the benefits the Shaw Method can bring. It was a clear progression for me to become a teacher for the company in 2008: I've never looked back.
