Being a non-swimmer never stopped me taking part in water-based activities, but it was not until I was 38 that I joined an adult beginners swimming class. Now I think of swimming as an activity that goes beyond the attainment of physical skills. I enjoy swimming under an open sky more than anywhere else.
When I discovered Shaw Method I found it a refreshingly creative approach that offers the potential for more holistic development. I’ve been teaching since January 2009, and combine it with my work as an interpreter for deaf learners. Thanks to my experience as an adult learner I particularly enjoy working with non-swimmers and those who are anxious in water.
